Since 1989, members of the Sunshine Slopers Ski Club, Inc., have celebrated the joy of skiing, year round sports and other enjoyable activities. As the first African-American ski club in the State of Florida, we currently have a membership of some 250 individuals including singles, married couples and youth who enjoy South Florida’s warmth and diverse communities.
The Sunshine Slopers are also members of the National Brotherhood of Skiers (NBS), and strongly supports their mission of identifying, funding and sustaining athletes of color for Olympic and international winter sports competitions. We are also proud members of the Florida Ski Council—one of the largest winter sports oriented organizations in the State of Florida.
The Sunshine Slopers meet at 3:00 p.m. every third Sunday at the Omega Activity Center, located at 15600 NW 42nd Avenue, adjacent to Florida Memorial University. We invite you to travel with us, have fun on the slopes and kindle new friendships in an atmosphere of warmth and excitement.
